Lunar Dance was never meant to stay perfectly still.

I designed it as a series of individual wooden circles connected inside one another, so the composition changes naturally as the earrings move. One moment the circles line up; a few steps later, they shift apart and create a slightly different arrangement.

That movement is not an extra detail. It is the design.

I laser-cut each component from 2 mm American linden wood, then paint the pieces by hand in muted forest green and clean white. The open spaces between the circles keep the earrings visually airy, while the contrast between the two colors makes each moving layer easy to see.

At approximately 3 inches including the hook, Lunar Dance has the presence of a larger geometric earring without needing the weight of a solid piece. The lightweight wood and open construction allow the circles to move freely while keeping the earrings comfortable to wear.

Hypoallergenic bronze-tone hooks provide a more comfortable option for ears that may be sensitive to some metals.

Because movement is such an important part of this pair, I paint both sides. When the circles swing, rotate, or separate as you walk, there isn’t an unfinished back interrupting the design. The green and white composition continues from every direction.

I finish the wood with linseed oil to help protect the surface while preserving the natural character of the material and the subtle variations that come with painting each piece by hand.

There is something a little unpredictable about Lunar Dance, and that is exactly what I like about it. You put them on once, but the earrings keep rearranging themselves with you.

Outfit idea: Pair them with a dusty plum or muted aubergine top, dark trousers or denim, and simple bronze-tone accessories. The soft purple creates an unexpected contrast with the forest green without overpowering the white details. For a lighter look, try a warm oatmeal top with olive or charcoal bottoms.

Natural wood grain and small variations in the hand-painted finish are part of the handmade character of each pair. Colors may vary slightly depending on screen settings.
