Pearlescent Rainbow Wooden Earrings – Hand-Painted Multicolor Statement Earrings

Pearlescent Rainbow is one of those pairs where the smallest details took some of the most attention.

I laser-cut each earring from 2.5 mm American linden wood, creating an open geometric design with curved sections and small interior spaces. Then I paint each piece by hand in pearlescent shades of pink, blue, green, and gold.

But I didn’t want the color to stop at the obvious surfaces.

The front is painted. The back is painted. And I also paint the narrow inner edges inside every opening by hand.

It takes longer, but it means that when the earrings turn or move while you’re wearing them, the design still looks finished instead of suddenly revealing bare wood between the colors.

The pearlescent finish changes subtly depending on the light and angle. Sometimes one shade appears stronger; sometimes another catches the light first. That shifting color gives the pair its playful character without needing extra embellishment.

At approximately 2.5 inches including the hook, they have enough size to bring color to an outfit while the open construction and lightweight American linden wood help keep them comfortable to wear.

Hypoallergenic bronze-tone hooks provide a more comfortable option for ears that may be sensitive to some metals.

Once the painting is complete, I finish the wood with linseed oil to help protect the surface while allowing the natural texture and handmade character of the material to remain visible.

What I like most about this pair is that there isn’t one color you have to build your outfit around. The mix does the work for you.

Outfit idea: Pair them with a deep teal or muted navy top, relaxed dark denim, and simple bronze-tone accessories. The darker background lets the pink, green, blue, and gold pearlescent shades stand out without competing with them. For a softer look, try a light oatmeal blouse with olive trousers.

Natural wood grain and small variations in the hand-painted pearlescent finish are part of the handmade character of each pair. Colors may appear slightly different depending on lighting and screen settings.
