Equinox Armonioso is where wood begins to feel almost like textile.

I laser-cut each earring from 2.5 mm American linden wood and add fine engraved details that help define the floral composition. Then the slower part begins: working burgundy and warm camel thread through the design by hand, section by section.

The embroidery changes the character of the wood completely.

What begins as a smooth wooden shape gains raised texture, small changes in direction, and the subtle irregularities that come from thread being placed by hand rather than printed onto a surface. The engraved lines remain visible around the embroidery, giving the softer textile details a structure to grow within.

There is something I especially like about that contrast—the firmness of the wood beside the softness of the thread.

The reverse tells another part of how the earrings are made.

Because the embroidery passes through the wooden piece, I finish the back with felt to cover and protect the threadwork. The felt is not meant to imitate a second decorative front or hide how the earrings are constructed. It is a functional part of the handmade piece, and its natural texture and small irregularities may remain visible.

At approximately 2.5 inches including the hook, Equinox Armonioso has the presence of a statement earring without relying on heavy materials. American linden wood keeps the structure lightweight, while the embroidery adds visual depth and texture rather than unnecessary weight.

Hypoallergenic bronze-tone hooks provide a more comfortable option for ears that may be sensitive to some metals.

Once the wooden portions are finished, I treat them with linseed oil to help protect the surface while allowing the natural grain, engraved details, and handmade character to remain visible.

What makes this pair special to me is that two very different materials are allowed to remain exactly what they are. The wood doesn’t try to look like fabric, and the thread doesn’t hide the wood. They simply meet in the same piece.

Outfit idea: Pair them with a deep teal or muted forest-green blouse, dark straight-leg denim, and warm brown shoes or boots. The cooler green creates a beautiful contrast with the burgundy and warm camel embroidery without competing with its texture. For a softer look, try a dusty rose top with charcoal trousers.
