Frozen Sky began with the idea of looking up on one of those clear winter days when everything seems quieter and the colors turn almost icy.

I build each earring from three connected wooden snowflake sections, but the snowflakes are not simply painted onto a flat surface.

Each section begins with a laser-cut base in 2 mm American linden wood. Then I create a second wooden snowflake and layer it over the first, giving the design real depth and a subtle raised dimension you can see from the side.

That layering is what gives Frozen Sky much of its character.

Deep blue, icy green, and crisp white move through the three sections, with each piece painted by hand before the earring is assembled. The colors remind me more of winter sky, ice, and cold light than of traditional holiday red and green, which makes this pair feel seasonal without looking like a Christmas costume.

The design continues on both sides.

That matters especially in a longer earring. At approximately 3 inches including the hook, Frozen Sky naturally turns and shifts as you wear it. Instead of revealing a plain unfinished back, the color and design remain part of the earring from either direction.

And although the layered construction gives the pair plenty of visual presence, it doesn’t require heavy material to create it.

American linden wood keeps the earrings lightweight, so you can wear a longer, dimensional statement design without the heavy pull often associated with large metal earrings.

Hypoallergenic silver-tone hooks provide a more comfortable option for ears that may be sensitive to some metals.

Once the painting and assembly are complete, I finish the wood with linseed oil to help protect the surface while preserving its natural texture and handmade character.

What I like most about Frozen Sky is the contrast between how intricate it looks and how light it feels. Three sections, layered snowflakes, several colors, and plenty of detail come together in a pair that still feels airy rather than bulky.

Outfit idea: Pair them with a warm camel or soft tan mock-neck top, dark indigo denim, and simple silver-tone accessories. The warmer neutral creates an unexpected contrast that makes the deep blue, icy green, and white feel even cooler and brighter. For a softer winter look, try a pale gray-blue sweater with charcoal trousers.

Natural wood grain, laser-cut edges, and small variations in the hand-painted finish are part of the handmade character of each pair. Colors may appear slightly different depending on lighting and screen settings.
