At first glance, this set is about sunflowers. Look a little closer, and there is something else waiting inside the design.

The earrings and matching hair clip share the same layered sunflower, painted by hand in warm yellow, coral, and earthy tones against natural American linden wood. But on the hair clip, tucked quietly into the engraved stem, is one small word: “Blessed.”

I like that it isn’t the first thing you notice.

It feels more personal that way—like a little reminder woven into the piece rather than a message that needs to announce itself.

The earrings begin with 2 mm American linden wood that I laser-cut and engrave. Each sunflower is created separately, painted by hand, and layered onto the teardrop-shaped wooden base, giving the flower dimension while still allowing the natural grain and engraved details beneath it to remain visible.

I finish the same sunflower design on both sides of the earrings. So when they turn as you move, you don’t suddenly see a plain unfinished back. The flower continues with the movement.

At approximately 2 inches including the hooks, they have enough presence for the layered sunflower to stand out without needing the weight of a heavier statement earring. The wooden construction keeps them lightweight, while hypoallergenic gunmetal-tone hooks provide a more comfortable option for ears that may be sensitive to some metals.

The matching 3.5-inch clap-style hair clip has a dark brown base topped with its own custom-cut piece of American linden wood. Just like the earrings, the sunflower is separately cut, engraved, painted, and layered by hand. The engraved stem carries the small “Blessed” detail that gives this piece its quieter meaning.

I treat the wooden components with linseed oil to help protect the surface while keeping the natural grain, engraving, and handmade texture visible.

Wear the earrings and clip together when you want the sunflower motif to carry through your look, or separate them when one small detail feels like enough. Either way, they were designed to feel connected without looking overly matched.

Outfit idea: Pair the set with a soft denim-blue or chambray top, cream trousers, and warm cognac sandals or flats. The cooler blue gives the yellow and coral sunflower tones a fresh contrast. For a warmer look, try a muted cinnamon blouse with dark denim and simple gunmetal-tone accessories.
