There is something I like about putting precise geometric lines on a material that was never meant to be perfectly uniform.

These elongated teardrop earrings bring those two things together. The engraved sections create a strong, structured pattern, while warm orange, deep red, dark accents, and areas of visible natural wood keep the design from feeling too rigid.

I laser-cut and engrave each pair from 2 mm American linden wood, then paint the individual sections by hand. The engraved lines define the geometry, but the grain underneath is still allowed to show through and become part of the finished piece.

That contrast is what gives these earrings their character: controlled lines meeting natural variations that I don’t try to erase.

The same hand-painted design continues on both sides. So when a 3-inch earring turns with your movement, you don’t suddenly reveal a plain unfinished back. The color, engraving, and geometric pattern remain visible from either direction.

Their long teardrop shape gives them the presence of a statement earring, but the material changes how that size feels when worn. American linden is lightweight, allowing the earrings to make a stronger visual impact without relying on the weight of a large metal piece.

Hypoallergenic bronze-tone hooks provide a more comfortable option for ears that may be sensitive to some metals.

Once the painting is finished, I treat the wood with linseed oil to help protect the surface while preserving the visible grain, engraved lines, and handmade texture.

These are the kind of earrings I would reach for when a simple outfit needs one strong detail rather than several competing accessories.

Outfit idea: Pair them with a deep olive or moss-green top, charcoal trousers, and warm brown shoes. The muted green gives the orange and red sections contrast without repeating their colors. For a softer look, try an ivory knit with dark denim and simple bronze-tone accessories.
